2012
This week we have been talking about
Fall and the changing leaves and doing some fall related activities. We read the book “Leaf Man” and used real
leaves to create our own Leaf Men. We
have also practiced counting and color identification by doing leaf math. We also read the book Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf
and talked about what happens to trees during different seasons. Since we will
be taking a trip to the grocery store next Monday, we predicted what we might
see there.
-Monday, November
12, we will be taking a field trip to the grocery store. We plan on leaving school around 8:45. We will be taking a tour of the grocery store
and documented things we see while we are there.
-November 14:
Thanksgiving Lunch @ 10:15am
-November 15: Highland Elementary FRC Presents Family Literacy Night. We will start serving pizza, fruit,
cookies and drinks at 5:00. There will
be a short PTO meeting at 5:30, BINGO will start directly after the meeting. If
your child wins BINGO, they will win a free turkey. There will be 10 turkeys given away and then
BINGO will be over. Each child will also receive one free book.
-Picture
retakes are November 16. If your child
missed picture day they will be having them done on this day.
- If you haven’t
already please send an extra pair of clothes for cold weather. We will be sending home your child’s extra warm
weather clothes as soon as we receive the others.
-Ms.
Nikkia Smith’s Kindergarten class is collecting can tabs for the Ronald
McDonald House. If you have any can tabs, please send them to school.
